A) LOCATION:
Charon The community of Windows is part of the Parish Honorato Vazquez, Canar in Canton. It is located 15 kilometers from Canar, 8 miles from Bible Azogues 20 km and 50 km from Cuenca. Access is via the Pan American Cañar either from or Bible (there are two entries are marked), and then there are about 5 miles of dirt road. The community is at a height of 3100 m.s.n.m. and has an average temperature of 7-12 º C.
B) SERVICES:
This community has a guide service (two guides). Furthermore, the “Hacienda El Trebol” is hosting service for 10 people in restored farmhouses and serving of food and drinks in a restaurant with capacity for 25 people.
C) ACTIVITIES:
The main activities can be carried out in the community of Windows Charon are: hiking through the old railway line or up the hill of Charon Tayta which overlooks the entire valley and even Azogues Cuenca, horseback riding, cycling, visit Ingapirca archaeological complex, Coyoctor-Los Baños del Inca, Cojitambo and fishing.
D) EQUIPMENT:
To visit the community of Charon Windows is advisable to wear warm clothes, shoes for hiking, sunscreen, rain gear, sunglasses, hat and camera.
