COMMUNITY TOURISM NETWORK OF PACHA CAÑARI SUMAK
Community Tourism Network of Pueblo Canario Sumak Pacha is composed of six communities located in Canton Cañar, and they are developing tourism products and services as Centers of Community Tourism (CTC’s).
Community Tourism Network of Pueblo Canario Sumak Pacha intended to Canar and their communities are one of the main players and leaders of community tourism in Ecuador. To this end, tourism offered is varied and is based mainly on natural and cultural wealth of the area. Not surprisingly, Canar is the Archaeological and Cultural Capital of the country.
Each of the centers that make up the Community Tourism Network have different characteristics and offer some original tourist products, and suitable for tourism, both locally and abroad.
Community Tourism Center of Ventura, which is located in the coastal area of Canton Canar. It is in a subtropical forest area, where its main attraction is hiking, horseback riding or biking through the thick vegetation. Visitors can also enjoy your nice warm weather, and finally, tasting the various dishes of the area as a community restaurant, traditional building. There is also an ample supply of private accommodation where visitors can rest and spend the night.
The Center for Community Tourism Windows Charon is in the upper area between Canton and Canton Cañar Bible. This is a unique landscape because of its excellent preservation, where they mix some pockets of primary forest with vast pastures and, in substance, the incomparable beauty of the Andean mountains. Presiding over this scene we have the “Tayta” Charon “Charon” or Father of about 3900 meters above sea level, where there is a viewpoint or the routes following the old railway line, where you can reach the archaeological complex of Ingapirca. The center is possible to stay in their lodgings and enjoy the traditional meal at his restaurant Andean Community.
The Tourism Centre Kullayacta Community (Annex and Caguanapamba Sisid) – is directly related to the visit to the most important archaeological Ecuador: Ingapirca. Therefore, it is an unparalleled opportunity to be able to carry out archaeological tourism and also the experience of community tourism, traditions and customs, their paths travel and overnight tourist accommodation in the Community in which this resort .
The Center for Community Tourism Shayacrumi / The Carbonari has an impressive landscape Canar river valley and has one of the few primary forests in the region. In the area surrounding the forest, there is a chance to practice camping, traveling several trails that traverse it, and eat in the restaurant / cafe / community store. It is also an ideal place for visiting schools, colleges and universities, as there is an interpretation center eco-tourism, which sets out the natural and cultural attractions of the community of Shayacrumi.
The Center for Community Tourism Chuchuca is in a temperate climate zone, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. The community has an old ranch house is being restored to provide catering and accommodation. There are also some trails through which you can tour the area and its main tourist attractions, such a lookout or a forest of quinual. On the other hand, you can access the Community Tourism Center Zhuya.
The Center for Community Tourism Zhuya primary forest has best preserved and most extensive of the entire region. This forest, which has more than 350 hectares, is the main attraction, but also boasts breathtaking mountain landscapes. There are several trails with different levels of difficulty that can be traversed. In addition, it has been installed an interpretive center eco-tourism and restaurant, both managed by the community, to meet the visitor.
